Meet our Customers! Ben Offer!

1. What do you consider the most beneficial things you do for your total well being?

Running, not only does it keep me in shape, but nothing is better for unwinding after a long day.

2. Do you consider yourself healthy?
Yes and no, though I have been averaging between 5-10 hours of cardio/x-training a week, I still know there is more I can do to improve  what I'm eating/drinking.
3. What do you do for a living and what do you do to live?
Proposal Engineer at a robotic integrator.  Downhill skiing is what I look most forward to all year long, I'm also training for my first marathon and have really started to enjoy running and cycling even more this year.  Also a huge fan of art, music, and film..
4. What supplements do you take?

Multi-Vitamins when I remember to take them.
Protein shake or smoothie after strength training or cardio over 2 hours.

5. What is your favorite healthy and unhealthy meals and why?

I get very bored with my diet, so the more I can introduce new things the better.  Standard issue pasta and chicken is getting old, so I've been trying to include thai dishes and sushi more and more lately.

I reward myself with craft beers whenever possible, and maybe when I don't even deserve a reward.  There is so much great beer being made right here in Michigan and I consider it my duty to drink as much of it as I can.

6. How do you exercise and what is your favorite kind?

Running, trail-running, boot-camp class, road cycling, mountain biking, swimming, spinning, and I try to get in full-body circuits at least 2 times a week to try and stay injury free... As much as I enjoy running and cycling on their own, the real reason I do them is so I can be a better downhill skier (or at least so I can spend all day on the mountain without wanting to die).

Calcium Ascorbate Capsules

Calcium Ascorbate Capsules 500 mg
Calcium Ascorbate is an innovative form of vitamin C. It is a patented, non-acidic vitamin C with metabolites. Calcium Ascorbate provides the important benefits of vitamin C to your immune system, joints, heart, eyes, skin and is even beneficial for many pets. Calcium Ascorbate is the only vitamin C with metabolites. Vitamin C metabolites result from the natural oxidation of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) that occurs during a proprietary manufacturing process. A preliminary study suggests that the metabolites in Calcium Ascorbate help it to work differently than ordinary vitamin C because it is non-acidic. Calcium Ascorbate is an acid neutralized (pH 6.7) form of vitamin C and therefore gentle on your stomach and non-irritating to the digestive system. Calcium Ascorbate is natural, free of GMOs (genetically modified organisms), cruelty free, free of allergens, chemicals and artificial ingredients.  Calcium Ascorbate is Kosher- and Halal-certified

1. What do you consider the most beneficial things you do for your total well being?

I started training in Martial Art about 6 years ago, and then I started studying Martial Art more in depth about 4 years ago. Hard style martial arts training consists of hardening the physical body and the musculoskeletal system whilst concentrating on coordination and technique. The Internal Martial Arts creates change from the inside to be expressed outwardly and helps with understanding the self in relationship with the outside world, this strengthens 'internal wellness' such as developing discipline, focus, awareness, sensitivity and acceptance. Combining different styles of training has been very beneficial in understanding what total wellness can be, and how simple and honestly it can be incorporated into all aspects of one's life. I like to travel around the areas where I live and visit different dojos and Martial Art schools and train in different styles from different countries, this helps me develop a better understanding of what a complete fighter should be and what health and fitness can provide to anyone.
The Philosophy of Kosho Ryu Kenpo Jujitsu is this: A body without spirit is a living corpse.  Just as the body needs a soul, our training needs heart and spirit.  Without pure values, high ethics, and a code of conduct we are without true worth.

2. Do you consider yourself healthy?

Yes, I think physical health can often be described in terms of strength, flexibility, and endurance. I try to remember these key areas when focusing on weekly exercises and training. I look at what the weaker of those three areas might be at the time and switch up my routine to remain balanced.

3. What do you do for a living and what do you do to live?

Right now I help run Blue Heron Academy, School of Healing Arts and Sciences and run American Health Source, a consortium of National Trade Associations representing a diverse family of professional health care providers and educators. The associations I run are NATE: National Association for Therapeutic Exercise, AMMA: American Medical Massage Association, AMMA: American Manual Medicine Association, and AINM: American Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. and the NGAAHP: National Governing Alliance for Allied Health Professionals.
I help teach Yang Style Tai-Chi Chuan at Blue Heron Academy (which is an available program) with Owner and Founder of the Academy Dr.Gregory T.Lawton whom I would like to express my personal gratitude towards as my martial arts mentor and treasured friend.
Outside of the school I've taught fitness exercise, self-defense, and Kosho Ryu Kenpo Jujitsu which I currently hold a black belt in. I also work as a freelance Graphic Designer, photographer, and fine artist in my free time.

4. What supplements do you take?

Right now the Farmer's market has provided a great balanced diet which includes all my macro and micro nutrients plus a full range of vitamins and minerals. I also save about 50% on grocery costs! In the winter I start taking fish oil for my joints, vitamin D for the decrease in sunlight, vitamins B & C to boost energy and my immune system, and lastly I've been introduced to chinese herbal formulas that are more easily digested in my system.

5. What is your favorite healthy and unhealthy meals and why?

My favorite healthy meals are fresh fruit smoothies using almond or soy milk to cut out all fat and cholesterol as well as pasta fresca using whole wheat pasta and fresh pan cooked or grilled vegetables with some nice spices.
My favorite unhealthy meal is pizza because I eat it morning, noon, or night. I've been switching to vegan or veggie style pizza as of lately though because I can eat more with less fat involved.

6. How do you exercise and what is your favorite kind?

I get a lot of exercise from teaching the Tai-Chi Chuan classes at Blue Heron Academy, and I also take a yoga class during my work week there as well. In the evenings I usually cross-train: I kickbox, train in various Martial Arts, play basketball or play soccer. My favorite kind of exercise is something that is engaging and fun and keeps my mind off the burn!

Ultra Lean HCG

HCG Diet Protocol for Weight Loss
Ultra Lean HCG is based on the Simeons’ HCG Diet protocol for weight loss. This protocol is designed to take advantage of the body’s natural hormonal system of regulating fat stores in your body and stimulating it to release the stores of dense, long-term, “brown” fat from the problem areas of your body. These are fat stores that would normally only be released during severe starvation or during pregnancy. This method of weight loss was developed by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, M.D., a British doctor who spent most of his career in India and Italy.
HCG is a hormone that is secreted in pregnancy. It has the ability to protect the fetus from starvation in times of famine by liberating the long-term, pathological brown fat stores of the woman’s body as a source of food. According to Dr. Simeons, “When the HCG is taken and there is no fetus present to use these nutrients, the body still releases the stored substances, and the body then gets rid of them, detoxing through the elimination system. This enables the body to release stored toxins and fat. You do not lose muscle mass, which is what occurs in other diets. One of the functions of this hormone is to stimulate the body to mobilize and burn extra fat cells for energy.”

Issac Trevino- K-Zoo Store!

The most benefited things I attribute to my health is a nutrient rich diet involving local fruits and veggies along with grass fed meats and eggs along with the addition of many cultured foods.  I do my best to avoid unnecessary toxins such as pesticides, herbicide, food additives and processed food.  I also take various whole food supplements to make up for nutritional defiencies in the soil.

I consider my self very healthy. I no longer suffer from any ailment, never catch cough of flu's and have a healthy body weight and a good complexion.

Along with working at warren I work independently as a nutritional councillor and a athletic trainer. I am now in the reserves and served 2 years active duty in the army.

For supplements I take a whole foods multi, flax and fish oil, chlorella, wheatgrass juice powder, additional B's,C, E  and MSM. For athletic performance I take whey, cre aalkalin, d ribbose and DMG.

My favorite healthy meal is grass fed beef with steamed Brussels sprouts, broccoli over a bed of lettuce and peppers.  My least favorite meals would be ALL fast food.

I race mountian bike and compete in judo.  So I weight train, interval trail, and cardiovascular train.

The most rewarding part to warren to me is learning more and helping people nutritional and supplementary.

I formally worked at nutrition plus for a few years and also worked at the endurance fitness.  I also went to blue herron and studied Holistic health, nutritional therapy and personal training.. much of my knowledge has come from my own research.

I've worked with warren for 4 months now.

Q. What do you consider the most beneficial things you can do for overall well being:
A. Diet, exercise, and stress management. Eat high energy food filled with lots of protein. Exercise to keep your endorphins (feel good hormones) rolling and provide a sense of stability and confidence. Always try to find something positive in every negative situation to help prevent the aging of the body because of stress.

Q. Do you Consider yourself healthy?
A. Yes. I try and support my everyday quality of life with mostly "clean" living although I am human like everyone else and like to live a little. A little bit of everything is good. Its all about balance.

Q. What do you do for a living and what do you do to live?
A. I help people find answers and ways to produce a better quality of life for themselves and the people they come in contact with.

Q. What supplements do you take?
A. It depends on the time of year and what kind of training I am doing. But overall, digestive enzymes, probiotics, good fats ( fish oil ), and Rhodiola which is an adaptagen herbal that helps to support physical and emotional stress response along with increasing mental and physical acuity and endurance. During heavy training I use protein powder and a nitric oxide supplement.

Q. What is your favorite healthy and unhealthy meals and why?
A. I tend to have a similar diet throughout most of the year which entertains a lot of protein skillet meals containing eggs, turkey or chicken, organic spinach, red pepper, green pepper, feta, goat cheese, or hot pepper cheese, basil, cayenne pepper, salt n pepper. I eat this meal because it contains lots of good healthy protein and greens along with tons of fantastic flavor and can be made within minutes. If I was to eat something unhealthy I would say its having a Culvers Double Burger with onion rings and a strawberry banana shake. Its full of fat, sugar, and lots of calories but its worth it once or twice a week as a pre load for a heavy workout the next morning.

Q. How do you exercise and what is your favorite kind?
A. In the summer its about being at the beach and playing 2 man beach volleyball competitively.  Whether its doing drills in the sand or playing in a big tournament on the weekend,  its provides great cross training with the best strength coach in Grand Rapids Craig Baker once a week with weights, sand bags, and gymnastic rings. Its a maintenance schedule to prevent over training. During the winter I tend to get really focused in the strength training department and Craig tailors my workouts for 2 heavy sessions a week which has yielded tremendous results in loss of body fat, increase in lean muscle, and prevention of injuries. No matter what you do for activities getting in a gym and pushing some weight is the only way to go year around as a healthy lifestyle.

Q. What part of working with Warren do you find most rewarding?
A. The reward is in meeting a lot of different people and sharing information that may help them in whatever situation they are in.

Q. What is your background in nutrition?
A. I started in the health business during college and continued on for the last 15 years learning from holistic practitioners, chiropractors, chemists, scientists, dietitians, strength coaches, personal trainers, doctors, and so on. I've been very lucky to work with all of these people and more.

Q. How long have you been working with Warren Nutrition?
A. For about 10 years.
