Jordan Shimmil - Awesome Boxer!
WN: What do you consider the most beneficial things you do for your total well being?
JS: Exercising, eating healthy, getting plenty of rest and I don't smoke, drink or do drugs.
WN:Do you consider yourself healthy?
JS: Yes. To be one of the best boxers, I need to train hard and be healthy.
WN: What do you do for a living and what do you do to live?
JS: I am a full-time athlete and count on sponsorships to pay my living expenses so I can focus 100% on my training. I have many hobbies that I do for fun including biking, drumming, 4-wheeling, swimming, boating, DJ'ing, and being around family and friends. I consider myself very lucky and feel fortunate that I am able to do what I enjoy every day.
WN: What supplements do you take?
JS: I take vitamins, protein drinks, energy bars, and sports drinks.
WN: What is your favorite healthy and unhealthy meals and why?
JS: I like grilled chicken, fresh fruits & vegetables and pasta. I can eat a lot and get the carbs & protein my body needs while training for competition. As far as unhealthy meals go, I have many, probably too many, but some include pizza, chinese food, burgers and brats, chocolate, really anything sweet, but I do try to keep eatting those foods to a minimum as they aren't very beneficial to my training.
WN: How do you exercise and what is your favorite kind?
JS: I do a lot of running with many variations including interval training, hills, sprints and plyometrics. My favorite training are boxing specific exercises like hitting the heavy bag and shadow boxing. I also enjoy mixing up my routines to avoid burnout by swimming, biking, roller-blading, jump rope, and lifting weights.
